Each year at the beginning of hurricane season (June 1), evacuteer.org organizes a “Hello Hurricane Summit” to gather community members, volunteers, and partner organizations together to review and renew our commitment to public safety and preparedness. The Hello Hurricane Season Summit serves to reconnect and update existing evacuteer.org partner organizations and individual evacuteers,as well as to invite new partner groups, and garner support from the community-at-large. Plans for 2011 include an informational fair with literature from participating community partner organizations and public safety, government and nonprofit organizations, the signing of 2011 Memorandum Of Understandings (MOUs) between evacuteer.org partner groups and evacuteer.org, updates on changes and trends in public safety, tips and lists to encourage a culture of preparedness.
